*PISTACHIO EYES (Stamile,P.) TET 5313-X (Inimitable X Tetra Connie Burton) 30” ERe. emo. no fr. Ev. 5.75” x 3.75” x 2.75”. 5-way branching (3 laterals plus terminal “y”). 35-40 buds.

When I first saw PISTACHIO EYES I knew I could never go back to using Tetra Connie Burton pollen because PISTACHIO EYES was such an improvement. From that day on Tetra Connie Burton became only a pod parent.

PISTACHIO EYES is one of the most beautifully colored daylilies in the garden. Yet, it is a very difficult color to describe. The image shows early bloom where it is a hot coral blue rose pink with a deep pistachio green throat. Later blooms are more blue pink with a deep green throat.

Like most of the Tetra Connie Burton seedlings the flower is very ruffled and wide petaled and wide sepaled. Unlike many Tetra Connie Burton seedlings,  the foliage is not upright and coarse, but rather finer and more arching like its pod parent INIMITABLE.

Odd, too, is that PISTACHIO EYES has better branching than either parent. There never seems to be a bad flower or an unphotogenic flower on this very special cultivar. If you love gorgeous form and gorgeous color you will love this one. Fertile both ways.
