*PRICKLY PLUMS  Pierce G.  5275-A  (Supreme Team x Seedling)  EV, EM, RE, 28” high, 6.75” flower, 5-way branching, 25 buds, Fragrant.  Bi-Tone.  Teeth.  Teeth on Sepals.

As a daylily hybridizer, when I want to do something, like teeth – I go All-Out!  Some breeders will do a cross with one or two pods.  Or possibly a few more, I cross on the 3rd set of rebloom scapes – By then I’m toast!  FYI, if you do not grow Supreme Team, you are missing out on one of the best daylilies out there.  Anyway, back 5 years ago, I set hundreds of pods with teeth and from these long seedling crosses came a few Fence Jumpers, And…  Strong Growers!  Since this picture was taken in full sun it looks reddish, whereas PRICKLY PLUMS is actually more mixed purples.  Give her a good look, and like me you will be hooked too.  Extra Wide overlapping petals, Teeth everywhere, all in multiple colors.  AND… a nice green throat.  An easy parent both ways, and… with my arching foliage.  Did you see the ruffled Double Edging?  Wait until you see the kids!  Limited.  DF
