Welcome, to Floyd Cove Nursery 2017!

FLOYD COVE NURSERY

2017 GREETING

Hello Daylily Friends

Another year is over and we cannot believe it is time to be introducing you to our new 2017 Catalog!  The past year has just flown by and it is amazing to think of all that was achieved in 2016 at our nursery.  As always it takes us so much longer than we anticipate in pulling the catalog together, but we hope that you enjoy it and find something that you can’t live without for your gardens.

Taking a moment to reflect on 2016, we of course wish to thank you our customers, visitors and friends for supporting us this year.  We especially wish to thank Sonya Starchak for again working so tirelessly over the year and helping us bring you the best plants we can.  We would also like to thank the clubs that supported us this year, with club purchases and visits. We hope that your members have enjoyed growing our plants.

Of course we cannot go without saying a big thank you to everyone that came and visited with us during this year’s Mecca and joined us for our BBQ.  We had a wonderful time seeing old friends and meeting so many new ones.  Thank you all for taking the time and effort to come and support the Florida gardens and hybridizers.  Your attendance made the event a great success and although it was a lot of work to pull it off, and it left us with not much time for talking to everyone on the Friday night; we were really so happy to meet you all.

Well, what an exciting time it is to release our Spring and Fall Introductions to you.  Often we have heard it said that hybridizers don’t release their best intros in the Fall.  We certainly don’t take that position.  We believe you are seeing some of the most interesting daylilies released in the Fall 2016 and even more in Spring 2017.

This year is our biggest catalog yet…. Over 32 color pages.  Now that is a very big, glossy catalog!  We have decided to do this, even during this difficult economic climate, as a way to allow you the customer, to see our flowers from many vantage points.  This is why we have gone to the effort to show flower images in the sun, shade, scapes height & branching, etc.  This will give you a better idea of what the daylily should look like in your own gardens.  As natural as possible and in all their glory. We hope you all appreciate that approach.

Facebook this year has been a great source of communication with you all during bloom season and outside of bloom. Please continue to check our Facebook page and follow us there.  We love to hear feedback from you on how the plants have performed and if you ever have any issues or are in anyway disappointed, please let us know.  We will do something to make that situation right!

To the best of our knowledge the EU shipping situation remains the same.  We had hoped that this may have improved for all our European customers, however it appears the ban on importation of plants to EU countries is still in effect.  We would of course advise you should the situation change.

As always we look forward to our next bloom season and hope that many of you will again visit with us during May 2017.   At this time, we understand that Mecca is the weekend of May 19, 20 & 21.  We will of course be open each day in May for visiting; 7.30 – Noon.     We look forward to seeing you all again in the garden.
