*BIG SUR (Stamile,P.,1999) TET T-542 (Chance Encounter  X Seminole Wind)  30” EMRe. Sev. vfr. ext. EMO.  6 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" .         3 - 4 way branching (3 way + terminal y or 4 way).  20 - 25 buds.  This huge rose has been a favorite of mine and my fellow hybridizers since it bloomed as a seedling in the garden.  BIG SUR is big and flat with heavy substance and deep fluted ruffling.  The throat is lime green and relatively large for the flower. Strong well branched sturdy scapes display the huge flowers well.  Deep dark forest green foliage sets off the bright glowing rose pink flowers nicely.  BIG SUR  is consistently a standout in the garden.  Absolutely gorgeous in a clump, it always seems to draw a crowd.  For the hybridizer, BIG SUR makes strong husky seedlings like itself and has shown itself to be a powerful breeder for pinks and roses.
