*HEARTS OF FIRE (Stamile,P.,1999) TET T-5429-A
(Ebony Jewel x Aramis) 30 MRe. Ev. fr. EMO. 6 1/4 x 2 3/4
x 1 3/4. 4 - 5 way branching. 28 - 36 buds. Brilliant
cerise red with a lacquered grass green throat best describes HEARTS OF
FIRE. The blooms are wide, round and full with heavy ruffling for
a red on both the petals and sepals. Substance is excellent.
The sun resistance is as good as any red in the Florida sun. There
is no fading but when temperature and humidity are high flowers will show
some damage at mid afternoon but recover nicely later in the day. This
is a red that is exceptional for brilliance and clarity of color.
Amazingly, it is not a ruby or blood red despite coming from EBONY JEWEL
and ARAMIS - both deep dark reds. HEARTS OF FIRE has a nice velvety
texture. My most used red parent and a great parent for green throated
reds. Easily fertile both ways
