*NORTHERN GIANT
*NORTHERN GIANT (Stamile, P.) TET 04-D {[Taos
X [First Knight X (Great White x Key Lime Ice)] 23 MRe. Dor. emo. ext.
dd. 7 x 3 ¾ x 2 7/8. 3-way branching. 21 buds. Again I
was expecting a dormant white from this line of crossing but the pinks
in the background of TAOS were not to be denied.(See description of color
inheritance in CHAMPAGNE PARTY.) The result is a beautiful baby ribbon
pink of exceptional clarity due to the white base in the flower. The
blooms of NORTHERN GIANT are especially large and with sepals about 3
wide it looks like SILOAM GOLIATH but with a pink cast and gold edge.
I am really excited to hear how this flower will do in the north. In my
heart I am hoping that like its famous pod parent it will be both larger
and even more dramatic in the north. Gorgeous. Fertile both ways.
