*ORNAMENTAL  FOCUS (Stamile,P.) TET 7360-A [(Persian Watercolor x (Secret Splendor x Druid’s Chant)) X Great White]  25” EERe. Ev. no.fr. ext. EMO.  7” x 3” x 2”.  4-5 way branching.  25-30 buds. Part of the mystery of hybridizing is the unusual breaks which occur when you least expect them. Crossing GREAT WHITE onto an eyed and edged seedling in an attempt to get GREAT WHITE’S robust plant habit and large flower size led to ORNAMNETAL FOCUS. Not only did I get the 7” size and robust plant with excellent branching from GREAT WHITE, but it also broke the deep eye of the DRUID’S CHANT seedling into a myriad of colors.  Sharp spikes of burgundy emanate from the eye.  Beneath the sharp spikes is a solid band of burgundy, then a band of lavender and an inner band of charcoal all on a base of cream yellow.  The very heavy substance and lightly ruffled blooms are popular with the visitors. ORNAMENTAL FOCUS is clearly a star in the early season, blooming a full 3 weeks before peak. Very strange.  Very beautiful.   Fertile both ways……………… $100.00
