*SKEEZIX (Stamile,P) TET 345-A [(Lavender
Arrowhead x Tetra Cerulean Star) X Linguini] 38” EMRe. emo. Ev. 8 ½”.
5-way branching. 30-35 buds. Double 70% of the time. Unusual form – Butterfly
form, spatulate petals, quilled sepals. Jan Joiner has some double ufs
in the diploids but I believe SKEEZIX to be the first double unusual form
in the tetraploids. This beautiful pink unusual form has spatulate shaped
petals but they are often crispated in a quilled and twisted manner. The
sepals are quilled for seven eighths of their length in a modified butterfly
form. However, it is the doubling that makes this unusual form so special.
This is one of the most exciting new areas of exploration in the unusual
forms. With the tall, strong erect scapes of SKEEZIX one can come to resemble
the giant cactus dahlias but without the need for staking so common in
the heavy headed dahlias. A breakthrough daylily in the unusual forms.
Fertile both ways…
