*MAYANS’ DAWN (Pierce, G.) 980-C (Romeo Prince x Midnight In Paris) EV
EM 38” 7.25” flower, 6 way branching, 35-40 buds. This is
the biggest, badest, boldest dark full formed daylily we have
introduced to date. Every bloom from first to last will simply
knock your socks off. 980-C was selected as the best from a long
cross as Romeo Prince is so pod fertile, and it looks exactly like the
photo, day after day, from May until beyond September. Some days
I think MAYANS’ DAWN is deep
black purple with a red tint, other days it looks the opposite.
Basically it is a deep black cherry red/purple, with a wide white edge
with dashes of yellow. It has heavy substance, with a flat face and
very wide overlapped petals. Easily fertile both ways.
