| * 'Spatial Anomalies' (John Peat, 2004). Semi-evergreen. 27 in. (68.6 cm) scape; 5.75 in. (14.6 cm) flower. Early-midseason. 3-4 way branching with 28 buds. A nicely ruffled cream to flesh pink with heavy substance and lavender overtones. The complex eye is made up of rings of varying colors of purple and slate-grey-blue. The middle ring is of a silver color that has the appearance of aluminum foil or reflective shiny fish scales. To capture the reflective aluminum foil effect on film is very difficult but when viewing this flower in the garden it is unmistakable when the sun shines on the eye of the flower as it reflects the sun's rays. Simply awesome, another of the flowers that we fight over the pollen for each day. A faint purple picotee edge surrounds not only the petals but the sepals. The bright green throat further enhances the distinctiveness of the patterned eyezone. Tetraploid. 'Majestic Rainbow' x 'Heavy Metal'. |
