COASTAL
YELLOW is a
huge bloom with crispate, cascade and spatulate
unusual form characteristics. The bloom is chartreuse yellow with a
deep grass
green throat. What makes this daylily special is its strong tendency to
rebloom. A clump planted on the southwest side of the house bloomed for
12
months in California. Freezing weather destroyed the blooms and weather
in the
30s meant the daylily blooms were trumpety and remained open for two or
three
days. Still it is amazing to see a daylily bloom from April to April.
Stella
D’Oro in New York only bloomed until December against the protection of
the
house.
