Greybeard, Daylily

*Graybeard

*GRAYBEARD (Stamile, P.) TET 012-A (Surrealty X Avila) 38” M Ev Re EMO. 7” 5-way branching. 30 buds.

You will never need a label in the garden for GRAYBEARD. It is so distinctive and a massive presence with huge flowers on tall well branched scapes. This flat mimosa yellow flower has a multicolored  patterned eye of amethyst, lilac and gray and a citron green throat. The petals are also edged in amethyst and lilac.

GRAYBEARD is an exceptional breeder for some of the most bizarre and unusual patterned yellows especially when crossed to PURPLE SUNSHINE or GREEN EYED APPLIQUE. I suppose one should not be too surprised GRAYBEARD itself is a cross of a pattern with a purple and one gets a momosa yellow?

    Fertile both ways.
